Lizard Garden wall fountain
I was commissioned to make a lizard wall fountain for a garden.
The clay used was craft crank, which, after it had dried, I scraped the grog (hard particles) out of the surface to create a stone-like texture in places. A mottled matt glaze was applied on the smoother body areas and a rich dark gloss glaze for the eyes. The clay was fired to stoneware temperatures so that the lizard was weatherproof (not susceptible to water or frost damage).
The client was very pleased with the finished lizard.
